The Jar has a wooden lid with Ceramic knob and a rubber seal to keep it airtight.

Jars may vary slightly in size …again not a fault just the Nature of a handmade range .
The plastic rims are interchangeable…you can choose to take them off or put them on to make the jars more airtight..you may need to add a little glue to hold in place .
